God Robot The CDC has stated on its website that only 6% of the people reported as dying of covid actually died of covid. 94% had an average of 2 to 3 other causes of death. So your 23,000 was actually 1,380, and since the average age of a covid death is 80+, and higher than the average age at death in this country, just how many people do you think die in LA every year in any case?

God Robot By the way, catching covid more than once is extremely rare. Here's a logic exercise: when you see an article claiming "something" about covid, do they actually give numbers, or is it just percentages at best? Then look up actual numbers yourself. For example, the media were claiming a couple of weeks ago that hospitals in Michigan were overwhelmed with covid patients. On the Michigan government's website, the actual number of hospitalized covid patients was 52 for the entire state. That includes Detroit, a very large city. 52. There were 10 more who were suspected of having covid, but hadn't been tested. Now use those brain cells and imagine 52 patients spread out through all of the hospitals in Michigan; does that sound to you like the hospitals were being overwhelmed? This happens every time. The claims by the media are spurious lies, then picked up by politicians and repeated in order to scare you. Almost every country is doing it.

@MarciaPriceDC Was the child tested, or was it just assumed to be covid? Most cases are just assumed, in spite of the fact that there are dozens of cold and flu viruses going around all the time. It is possible for someone to get sick with the same virus twice, but it's very rare, even with covid. My brother had chickenpox twice.

@bojacob2912 Were you tested, or did you just assume that it was covid?
