  1. Harvard tested high fructose corn syrup vs sugar on rats. The rats that ate the high fructose corn syrup got 40% fatter than the rats that ate sugar. So instead of banning it like other countries have, the government allowed food manufacturers to hide it in the ingredients by calling it something else, like hfcs, or even just fructose.
    2
