  1. Great job with the video. The store you went into for shopping (Spar) isn't really cheap compared to a lot of others in Russia. Trying looking for places like Pyaterochka, Pytorchika, Lenta, Auchan or Globus. Spar in Russia isn't realy that popular for every day shopping for things like fruits, vegtables or regular food items. Spar is popular where people call in fort a ready made meal like you pointed out. It's definately worth going to a few different supermarkets until you find the ones you like and prefer more.

  3. Thanks Sam for the shout-out. I really appreciate it. I take a lot of inspiration from your own channel at the same time. You were making videos for a lot of years before some of us came to Russia. I think of you as one of the OG English-speaking Youtubers.

  4. Fantastic video Sam. It's so intersting to see the different houses in the villages and how everyone builds something slightly different. How amazing you got to see inside the wood working shop. How amazing he showed you the different sewing machines, from England of all places. Wow!!!! I said exactly the same thing. These guys need a museum, to show the general public. And to think you were simply walking past.

  8. @Irisha Rozum Well said, not much has changed, of course there are a lot more privately owned companies now. But the government is always very supportive of people staying employed and wanting to care for the population. i understand what your saying in your comment. Russell.

  9. Thanks. I had to really convince her to be in this video. After all it was her idea to go and look at the place and eventually buy it. The building fees together with electricity and water are extremally cheap here. Russell.

  12. @Thomas Gold They do sell tobacco products, but they can not show them, or display them. Everything in this store in behind the counter and in under counter cupboards. There is only one small sign with a price list on display indicating what you can buy. Russell.

  14. Great video, I will say though, i think there is a difference in the two. I actually like Fancy, one thing that makes a different also is once you have it in the fridge for a while and drink it cold. I am going to be doing to Cola tasting video myself soon. I am curious as you were what the differences are and which ones I will enjoy. I am not ll that worried that Fanta left the Russian market, there is now a chance for local brands to come in and take over their market share. These last couple of cans you showed where the products from the Coca Cola factory I believe, Dobra Cola is the red one, looks at the fine print I mention th new name of the company which is the shell company set up as the new operators of the factories.   15. @Sammi MM The water here isn't as "tasty" as my wife puts it vs. bottled water. I think they don't have the treatment's like were used to in other countries. We have friends who lives in the same town as we do, but they have a well, and you can literally drink the water straight from the ground no worries at all. Russell.

  16. @chris stepleton Thanks for watching. This mall is a part of a much huger business park cover an entire suburb. It's basically 3 malls tied together, this being only one small part of the space. Together with an outdoor amusement park and they even built their own train station coming into the area, together with a convention center. ITs really amazing to see from outside how big this whole place is. No chance there likely to close what so ever. Russell.
