  1. In the 1970s the US Army stationed me at two forested areas for three years just before I got out. I didn’t realize how used to seeing the stars I had become until I returned to Los Angeles, California. The stars were gone and it felt oppressive. Like a weight pressing on me every night. I moved to N California immediately and never looked back. I regularly go outside to watch the ISS pass overhead and sit with the skunks under the stars.
