  3. After serving as an Army MP I thought a tour as a reserve Drill Sergeant would be interesting. It was, but we intake and gather the recruits before turning them over to their “real” DS. Well, in the 1970s anyway. We didn’t do a lot of training. We still got the campaign hat and pumpkin. I was used to wearing a stand- out cover after being a White Hat.
