In 1975 the Army knew they could not win a tank war with the Soviets. They were not going to fight one. If they had moved West, all Soviet tanks would have been obliterated immediately. By whatever means necessary. It would have happened. It would have been terrible for everyone. I would have been vaporized moments after realizing there was a problem.
