I took four years of college electronics in the 1970s. All of it tubes. I love tubes.

All we had in my day was a gun and a stick. That baton got a lot of use. My Field Training Officer saved my life with her baton. I was brand new. A suspect was going to stab me with a broken bottle when she blocked his attack and broke both of his collar bones with her stick.
35
I grew up with KTLA in the 1950s and ‘60s.

Sailors must be the bravest of us. I was proud to serve in the Army but I always felt like I could hide behind rocks and trees... or run for cover. But sailors just stand their post and take whatever comes. I'm impressed.
16
Being an Army MP was a very different experience.
14
I had the Strange change and every other dangerous Mattel toy. Back when a kid could burn their finger without a toy being taken off the market. You really must find ads for the Hypo Squirt. Insanely dangerous fun.
13
I have used all these things. I absolutely love LSD. Too bad it's so hard to find nowadays.
13
Excuse me, I'm sorry, I was looking for the class where they teach how NOT to get killed.
12
My Dad was on Pearl, in the Army, when we were attacked. He HATED the Japanese so after the war he volunteered for the Occupation Forces. By the time he came home he had fallen in love with the Japanese people and brought crates of souvenirs.
12
I was in the Army when this came out. The M-16 felt like a toy. I much preferred my M-60.
12
Enjoying this while vaping cannabis.
12
In 1967 my Mother took me to all of the Missions for the Summer. I was 10. It's still one of my favorite memories of my Mom. She passed last Christmas. I'm in my 60s but I miss her very much.
11
I wish I had heard this Before I spent nearly 50 years using large amounts daily. I lasted longer than the laws. And I was a cop. No, I never busted anyone for pot.
11
I was an Army cop when this came out.
10
Is there ANYTHING more annoying than an ad that's four times as loud as the content? No.
10
My Mom was a sectary for a buyer for over 20+ years and I got to see lots of cool things like the building of the wooden space shuttle mockup.
9
I didn't expect to watch the whole thing. But I did.
9
This is the technology I learned. I'm old.
9
M-60 1970s
9
This is so valuable. I would love to see them color corrected and stabilized and all that other stuff.

Aliens have never visited the Earth

Right around the time I was first hired as a cop. All we had was a gun and a stick. No spray, no Tasers, no pepper balls. Nothing else.
8
About 25 years ago I could see where the NRA was headed and I cancelled my lifetime membership. It was a great decision.
8
I wonder for how many Nazi types my Father was the last thing they ever saw. He was an Army SFC. Always remember that when you see Nazi regalia in today's world you are seeing deep Evil.
8
LSD is deeply misunderstood. I've enjoyed it a couple hundred times.
8
And the population is SO much denser today.
8
Simpler times. Now we're controlled by much more sophisticated methods. In the US, religion has always been a very powerful tool for control. Now Trumpism is brainwashing the majority of Republicans, despite his many tragic failures.
8
I had two jumps left, one with full equipment. I got pulled out of formation after the morning run and put on sick-call because I was seen to be limping. From then on I was what you call a "leg". I requested a transfer and got sent to Ft. Eustis, VA where I got to be a street cop. Not so bad when you are 18.
7
I served in the Army in the 1970s and early 1980s.
7
The difference is that religion is actually dangerous.
7
Nice to see this as a former soldier and nurse (not at the same time).
7
I remember it (and all the others) very well.
6
When I was a newly minted US Army Military Policeman I made a huge mistake by turning my back to a bar fight while apprehending a suspect. A soldier was about to stab me in the face with a broken bottle when my field training officer stepped in and broke both of his clavicles with a nightstick. This MP (one year older than me) saved my life and I've always been grateful that she was watching over me.
6
I’ll take two, please.

I was an MP stationed there for two years in the 1970s. It was a great place to be a young cop. I was SO young. But nobody wore an MP brassard when I was there. In fact, I was never issued one ever. Just a shield.

Diversity is Humanity's Greatest Strength. White Nationalists are the Enemy of all Americans. My dad was on Pearl, in the Army, when it was attacked. He fought through the war and requested service with the Occupation Force in Japan... because he hated the Japanese and wanted to continue to punish them. In Japan he forgave the people and came to care for them. He raised me to never judge a person I've never even met.
6
I used to grow the most amazing, giant, dense, heavy colas in my garage tent. Until we got broken into. Now my grow tent hangs in pieces on the backyard fence for my skunk videos. I actually have to purchase cannabis. My life is filled with woe….
6
Diversity is America's Greatest Strength. Diversity is Humanity's Greatest Strength.
6
Back when they could call anything "ice cream".
6
I was a street cop when this came out. It was fun. Fewer people had guns.

I was an Army MP stationed at an isolated Nike Hercules missile site in West Germany in the 1970s. Ditchelbach is probably a terrible misspelling. Sorry I forget. I could see a small bit of the Rhine River from my barracks window. Let me assure you that we were Very concerned about terrorist attacking us. Imagine you are sitting on a chair in a box, 4x4x6 feet high. The glass goes from your knees to the roofline. The box sits atop a 30 foot wooden tower between two cyclone fences festooned with large amounts of razor wire including on the ground, piled against the outer fence. There are two more towers, one above each "barn" full of missiles. You are on display. Behind you are lots of large Hercules first stages filled with pure H2O2.... "flame producing devices" are not a good idea, as many signs point out. Including the Nike stages and the high explosive warheads and the self destruct mechanisms the potential for a bad experience was ever present. The terrorists wanted us to have a bad experience. You are on display. In front of you is a 30 meter clear zone where nothing is more than 3 inches off the ground. Beyond this is thick forest. You are on display. We all understood the if people who meant business showed up all we were for was trying to report the attack before dying. If they are not good marksman we crawl out onto the narrow catwalk on one side to return fire. Six hours in the tower, 6 on the ground working to maintain the area. Repeat. 24 hour shift down range.

I started using cannabis daily in the Army in 1975. Most years since then I've grown my own until a few years ago when I switched to vapor cartridges. I don't think I can fill them myself.
6
I must be getting senile. I actually miss this. Well, Army.
6
Twenty years later I served in West Germany as an American Army MP.
6
Impeached Trump is the Worst thing to happen to America since Slavery. No Educated Patriotic Americans still support Evil Trump. Not one

Today we know that the military wanted to understand what their new weapon could do. The targets had not been previously attacked so they could see the full effects of the bomb. There was really never any chance that it wouldn't be used.
5
A tiny percentage of cops are bad. They get all the attention.
5
I was an Army Drill Sergeant. I played "good cop". I would take guys who were having problems and try to get them what they needed to succeed. My Drill did it for me when my knee swoll up I could have been kick out. I never forgot that debt.
5
Yep.
5
When I was a child in the '60s there was a coin operated game with these films. You would look into a sight, hand grips for L/R U/D and a button to fire. A bell rang for each hit and the counter registered. I wasted SO much money on it!
