And this is why I’ve been faithful to my amazing wife for 43 years

I've been talking Tramadol for about 15 years for my arthritis and I've had great pain management. A couple years ago my Doctor retired and the new Doctor I was sent to told me he didn't prescribe opioids for my condition. Instead he wanted me to take vast amounts of Tylenol. Even after I explained that I don't consider that safe for an old guy like me. I told him I would worry about my liver and he tossed back, as he was leaving, that I should worry more about my kidneys while taking it. How was I supposed to take that. Was it a joke? I decided he was simply ignoring my concerns. I never went back to him. I insisted on a different Doctor. As soon as I explained my situation to my new physician he said "I'll prescribe Tramadol for you". I know that Tramadol is not appropriate for everyone but one in the morning and occasionally one to sleep is just perfect for me. Doctors are not always right.

Seventy years with this tongue and I still occasionally bite it.

I recently got checked for an injury that was infected. My doctor knows I am a retired nurse and he gave me a prescription for an antibiotic saying that I’m qualified to decide if I need it. I followed the treatment plan and the infection was controlled by my immune system. I never filled the prescription. Maybe the infection would have cleared a day or two sooner if I had taken the medication, but what would it have left me with?

I didn't lose them. They're right here in this jar.

When I was 11 years old I stopped eating dead animals. My family was, of course, clueless. Unfortunately, so was our family doctor. I was given the exact opposite of accurate information and got terrible constipation (and hemorrhoids). My mom found a woman who knew stuff and we got accurate information about fiber. Thank goodness for her. I can honestly say that I haven’t been constipated since the 1960s. Not one time. One of the many benefits of being a vegetarian.

One of my two favorite cavities!

I feel best and I believe that I look best when I maintain my BMI at around 20.2. My being 70 years old makes it a little harder but being a lifelong vegetarian helps.

@TinCupChalice40 Your experience is sadly not unusual.

Smiley face!

Groan.

I have used LSD hundreds of times and never had a bad experience. But I prefer psilocybin. And salvia. And DMT.

Wait, what? Did you say “my” heart?!

I smoked cannabis heavily for (oh god) thirty five years. I’ve been vaping for the last twenty. My O2 saturation is normal now but who knows what the future holds.

That’s not natural

My doctor said he ties two knots, cuts out the section in between and burns the cut ends. He guaranteed that his procedure was irreversible. I was 21 years old and it’s the best decision I ever made.

I'm happy to be vaccinated against rabies. But if I ever get bitten by a wild animal I'll be sure to get a quick booster.

Yes, we will. Evolution had many millions of years. We just got started.
