  6. As an Army Veteran I couldn't understand how this was ever an issue. When the Swine Flu vaccine came out in the 1970s we got lined up and vaccinated. No one cared about our opinions. Getting vaccinated is just part of being in the military.

  14. At my annual doctors appointment he looked very uncomfortable bringing up the subject of vaccines. When I pulled out my (very real) vaccination card told him I was already fully vaccinated he seemed SO pleased. And relieved.

  38. I was eleven years old when I realized religion isn’t real. “One Way” in the early 1960s in California was my whole life. I felt I had to be mistaken but I clearly wasn’t. It was terrifying for a child. But I forced myself to accept that I was living in a culture where almost everyone was living a lie. The ending of the remake of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” reminded me of my youth, hiding my truth. I didn’t dare tell anyone that I was an atheist until I got into the Army. Now I pretty much wear my reason proudly on my sleeve.
