Come to Houston or anywhere in the South, it's a super livable city with high income and low cost of living. High rents are all because of supply and demand. Too many people are trying to live in too small spaces so the property values shoot sky high. Also, NZ is a really beautiful place. I love some of the rivers and streams and landscape in NZ. Definitely wish to visit sometime. And congrats on your inheritance. You should be very thankful to your parents/grandparents.

Maybe you should consider moving to a different city in NZ where the cost of living is cheaper or Adelaide in Australia. You would have a ton of money to start over and live very comfortably. It's odd that your right wing government opened the borders for immigrants. In USA, the right wing government fights to limit immigration and the left wing fights to increase it. I wish I could show you what 750k NZ could buy you in my country!
