@JJ-zr6fu No insults were given. T & V were both lying through their teeth. Now that's an insult.
13
But it wouldn't change your vote would it?
7
@returnofCrusade It was an aspirational target not an obligation. And they weren't paying it to anyone. It was to be spent on their own military.
5
Yet you can afford a $4.5 trillion tax cut for your billionaires. Stop trying to be a superpower and cut your military budget by 80%. But understand that your power to influence events in the world will diminish significantly. And you can forget the USD being the reserve currency.
4
@returnofCrusade Unless you can provide evidence, I'll take that as BS.
4
It's not often that freedom, democracy and geopolitical interests align for so many countries, but here we are. Result: Humiliating defeat militaily and geopolitically coming soon to Russia.
3
@maggiebayka It's this kind of ignorance that leads people to vote for Trump. There are over 150 million American tax payers. If you multiply that by $3000 each that's $450 billion. That is about half of the US defence budget. Your claim is completely false. Also, that money spent in Europe is as a deterrent to Russia which has hundreds of nuclear weapons targeted at the US. So I'd say the money you spend in Europe is as much for your own national security as Europe's.

Since the Russian government and populace both want war the only way this can end is by defeating Russia on the battlefield. Let's stop with the nonsense that negotiations might work. It's time to give Ukraine everything they need to win and untie their hands so they can strike military targets deep inside Russia.
2
Are you really so naive? Russia would use the ceasefire to rebuild their military and then attack again. This possibility could have been overcome with security guarantees. The point Zelensky was making to Vance was that Russia has broken all previous agreements and ceasefires, so what will make Russia uphold their part of the deal this time? A reporter also asked what the consequences would be and Trump gave a stupid deflection. Trump is not bringing peace, he is selling Ukraine out to Russia. Wake up already.
2
@northman7946 NATO does not need to get involved because Ukraine can defeat Russia on its own, with Western military aid. NATO also does not want to destroy Russia and box them into a corner where nuclear weapons become a serious consideration. The Russian military is far, far weaker than anyone imagined before the start of this war. But you are free to believe whatever makes you feel better.
1
@rm4po4 Blatant lies. Igor Girkin already admitted in TV interviews that there was little to no support for Russia in Crimes and Donbass. You are just repeating easily disproven Russian lies.
1
It's one thing to look good on paper and quite another thing to deliver. This entire war has exposed Russia as a paper tiger. Just 14 months ago nobody could have believed Russia would find itself in duch a diabolical military situation. Turns out Russia is all show, no go.
1
The author of that analysis makes no mention of the attrition of Russian military equipment. At their current rate of losses, how long can they continue to field a modern military? It's clear they are already unable to sustain offensive operations on any large scale. How long before even defensive opetations are comprised? The West needs to give Ukraine whatever they need to win. Judt keep ratcheting up the pressure on Russia and they will crack.
1
@Sizt Things have already changed. The whole of Europe knows the US can't be trusted as a military or economic partner. You can unscramble an egg.
1
@maggiebayka You're doubly ignorant in doubling down on what was obviously a false claim. The onus is on you to prove your original claim that every US taxpayer was paying $3000 to defend Ukraine. That's complete BS. Also, the money spent in helping Ukraine mostly stayed in the US. Ukraine received old US weapons, while new replacements are manufactured in the US for your military. It boosted both the US military and economy. If you're going to make ridiculous comments expect to be fact checked.
1
Good analysis. However this counteroffensive goes, the West cannot afford to stop supporting Ukraine. That is unthinkable. It would amount to Russia winning and being able to apply pressure to NATO for decades to come. Russia will have succeeded in creating a new world order and the West can't live with this. I predict that if Russia looks like winning that NATO will intervene to ensure Russia loses. There is no other palatable alternative. Russia has locked itself into a no-win scenario.
1
Yes. Prigozin is a Putin mouthpiece.
1
@922claymont922 You loved his lies. Zelensky said thanks earlier in the meeting. You Trump supporters are as sharp as a bowling ball.
1
@Robert-vo3ik All Zelensky asked was if Putin has never respected any previous agreements, what will make him respect a ceasefire? And when Trump was questioned about this by a reporter he gave some stupid answer about what if a bomb drops on his head. It was pure deflection. The question still remains: what are the consequences if Putin breaks the agreement? At the moment it seems none. So Trump and Vance are pushing a deal in which Putin is free to break his undertakings whenever he likes. Zelensky was being perfectly reasonable. Trump and Vance were like two vultures.
1
@FlyEaglesFly2025 He did not come with demands. This was an ambush based on lies by both Trump and Vance. People like you are the reason the world no longer trusts America. You will soon have no allies.
1
Do you Americans understand that Russia has been waging hybrid warfare against you for years?
1
Russia has hundreds of nuclear weapons aimed at the US and senior figures in their government have repeatedly threatened to nuke Washington. Being pro-Russian is traitorous.
1
@attilamarics3374 Was Kherson also unimportant? Russia has failed repeatedly over the past 14 months and only idiots think they're succeeding.
1
@philjameson292 The 3 most powerful nations in the world are now openly expansionist. Every smaller nation would be crazy not to develop a nuclear deterrent if they're capable of doing so. Some nations may need to work together to achieve that goal. The world is going to become a very dangerous place because of our modern day Neville Chamberlain.
1
@chuckbbb3796 What rules are you referring to? I don't think any rules have been broken I would also remind you that your allies sprang to your aid after you were attacked on 9/11.
1
@chuckbbb3796 It is not a requirement. It was optional. So stop your BS.
1
@Banc2008 Then Hamas will be responsible for their deaths. Palestinians civilians will have to rise up against hamas. It's their choice.
1
In shafting Ukraine Trump is throwing all of Europe under the bus as well. The US can not be trusted as an ally any longer. Europe needs to adapt and fast. Several more nations need to develop nuclear weapons as a deterrent to Russia now that the US nuclear umbrella no longer exists.
1
@productionkos8816 Another victim blamer. Shame on you.

I agree.

I agree except for the economic part of your comment. Russian energy exports are down 50% this year. They had a $30 billion budget deficit in the first 6 months of 2023. They can't borrow money and they can't access their frozen funds. Slowly but steadily they are being drained. If it keeps up long enough, the outcome will be the same as for the Soviet Union. Russia is in a trap of its own making and NATO isn't going to let it get out by pressuring Ukraine into negotiations. As long as Ukraine is willing to fight, they will get enough support to keep fighting.
