Changing the payment currency is already a breach of the terms of the respective contracts. Europe has no choice but to wean itself off Russian energy, no matter how painful that may be initially.

@oldi184 Russia is insignificant to the west. You will see.

@jp3630 Nonsense. You will see how quickly it happens.

@diffrentperspective-z7t Plenty of other options.

@reljamrkic2663 Spoken like a true commie. Always accusing the other of your own deeds.

@eka9743 Bigger Russia will end up like greater serbia, in the dustbin of history. The Ukranian people have the right to choose how they want to live.
1
@dl7694 Who cares where you work. Necessity is the mother of invention. Russia needs the west way more than vice versa.
1
@oldi184 Keep crying as Russia goes broke and eventually disintegrates like the USSR.
1
@jp3630 Decades? Bullshit. Keep dreaming Russian troll.

Andre Oosthuizen There are other options. Solutions will be found.

@view1st Far better ti be dependent on the USA and other countries than Russia. Putin has proven that Russia can never be an ally or add to Europe until it is a full democracy. Putin effectively rules by decree. There is no rule of law. Russia is a mafia state. Who wants ti be associated or allied with that? Only other mobsters.

@Rudyjosephjr If you want to live st subsistence level, maybe you can get by. But keeping up with other countries is impossible when isolated. China and India will not save you. They have their own interests to look after. The final result of this war in Ukraine will be the collapse of the Russian Federation. It will take time, but the seeds have been sown.

@view1st What should I ask them? Don't bother trying to lump countries together. It's intellectually lazy. Make your point about each individually if you have one.

@honeyboy8534 Inflation yes. But Russia will be destroyed. Well worth the price.
1
@hhbeatmaker1 Ukraine's application was already rejected. That means Putin lied about that being the reason for the invasion. Yet all these Russian trolls are still on here spouting Putin's propaganda. Pathetic.

@abb7118 Never watched CNN. The situation in the war is one thing that can be disputed. But the strategic and economic impact on Russia is going to be devastating and that conclusion is perfectly rational.
1
@vasihussein8228 Or maybe they prefer to ally themselves with a democracy with all its faults rather than Putin's mafia state. Europe has woken up to the fact that Russia can hold them to ransom over energy any time it wants. And now they have decided to break that dependency. About time!

@dirkfolscher3001 Get some help. You need it.

Relevance? Both have their own issues and interests and both depend on the west for large chunks of their income. Russia GDP $1.5 trillion and falling vs US + Europe + allies GDP $40 trillion plus. Who do you think is more important to China? India has a more complex story but still wants to maintain good relations with the west. Where do you get the idea that countries will sacrifice their interests to help Russia? You Russian supporters don't understand the implications of this line of thinking. In effect, you are saying that Russia has gone from being a superpower to now being dependent on China and India for their survival. If that is true then invading Ukraine was a calamitous mistake. When will you finally admit it?

@mzerk9324 Laughable. How exactly do you divert all that has and oil without building pipelines that will take years to build and tens of billions of dollars in investment? Who is going to invest in a country that nationalizes investors assets when they feel like it? Who will invest in a country with no rule is law that is run by Putin's criminal mafia? I will believe you only after you show me the finished pipelines. Long before then, Russia will be broke and on it's knees. Putin will have been deposed. Lots of countries are blessed with huge natural resources and yet remain dirt poor. Think Venezuela. Keep dreaming. The world economy is a lot more than Russian gas and oil. Who will run the risk of flouting the sanctions? China will only help up to the point of it being in their interest to do so. They will not put their neck on the chopping block for Russia.

She is a war criminal too. Being part of the regime makes her an accomplice.
