  1. This guy is giving a very distorted view of the Philippines. I've been there 7 times. First, the infrastructure is only good in downtown areas like Manila, Makati or parts or Cebu etc. Overall, the infrastructure is very "third world." It looks run down, dirty, ramshackle. The streets are filthy. On my first visit to Manila I thought the poverty and filth were on par with parts of India. Those buildings are modern and clean only in 0.0001% of the Philippines. The internet is far worse in the Philippines and really bad out in the province's. As for food, this guy is straight up lying. The Philippines has the worse food in Asia and by some distance. Ask yourself why you do not see many Filipino restaurants in the US, Canada, Australia etc? There are lots of Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai etc. But virtually no Filipino. The reason is simple: Filipino food is awful by comparison. Yes, you can eat at upmarket restaurants in the malls every day but that will cost you about the same as eating in the West. The standard of accommodation in the Philippines is also far worse than Thailand and worse value for money. On the plus side, Filipinos speak English very well. Also, culturally they are more like westerners after having been a Spanish and then US colony for centuries. Your average Filipino will know western music, sports, movies and be far easier to relate to and communicate with. If you're a Christian, then the Philippines will suit you from that perspective as well. The Philippines is also extraordinarily beautiful. Sight seeing is always a pleasure. But most of the beaches, with a few rare exceptions, are over-rated. I say this as an Australian. So my standards are probably high. The best thing about the Philippines is Filipinos and the friendliness of their culture. They're just really friendly people and like to have fun. You will probably have a better chance of finding a high quality partner in the Philippines than most other countries. I have noticed a trend in the bigger cities where women are becoming a lot more femin**t. You see more girls with tattoos, coloured hair, body piercings. You see more obvious lesbianism etc. If you are really looking for marriage material you will need to get out of the big cities and stay in the smaller cities or provinces. If you do that, you have a reasonable chance of success. A lot of Filipinas will want you to spend a lot of money on her family. There are some who are only after your money. They will play the long game and try to lock you into sponsoring her family beyond your means. Of course there are exceptions to that, girls who will not put such financial demands on you. But you can expect that most girls see you as an ATM. Ditch those girls asap. There are lots of better options available to you. When you step off that plane forget everything you know about dating in the West. In RP you are the prize. Women will constantly be making eye contact, smiling and flirting with you. Everywhere! So take your time to find the girl who suits you best. If a girl you're dating gives you trouble or seems to be only after your money, just ditch her immediately. There are a million other girls who would be only too happy to replace her. Stay safe. The Philippines can be a dangerous place. Have your wits about you all the time. Don't insult locals or get into a fight with them. Good luck bro's.
