  7. If it's working so well for them then why did the Soviet Union collapse 35 years ago? They lost all of Eastern Europe and much of Central Asia. The next collapse has become inevitable due to Putin's disastrous war.

  13. Not that I'm suggesting it but you could start by feeding the counterfeit rubles into countries that do a lot of business with Russia and which have a lot of Russian expatriates due to the war. Once the fakes are detected, currency exchange of rubles would collapse and the ruble would be worthless outside of Russia. As a frequent traveler I have been surprised that rubles are still exchanged in many countries in Asia.

  31. Russia cannot survive this war without disintegration. We are watching their demilitarization and economic demise. Russians and their supporters are delusional. They seem to believe a country with an economy of $1.5 trillion can defeat an alliance whose combined economies are close to $50 trillion. The only thing Russia had in its favor when they started this war was the massive stockpiles of old Soviet weapons and ammunition. Once that's exhausted it is impossible for them to keep up with the West. Soon, even China will cut them off. Blinkens warning recently has put China on notice. The US and EU are their largest export markets by far. They can't afford to ignore the consequences of secondary sanctions. The only way out for Russia is to withdraw from Ukraine and seek peace negotiations.

They're very poorly informed about international events and are brainwashed by their media and government in support of Russia. Their reasoning usually amounts to this: Russia has been our friend for a long time so we will not criticise anything they do. I've given the following analogy to many of them. Imagine if you discovered that your friend was a r*pist or a serial killer. Would you criticise your friend or remain neutral while your friend commits those crimes? Very few will agree that criticism is warranted. It's not easy to change tribal/caste mentality. Morality appears to take a back seat. India is no friend of the West and never will be. We should learn from our mistakes with China. Western countries and companies should not invest in India and expect anything different than we received in retun from China: hostility and aggression.

  48.  @jackalopewright5343  It's a war economy. 3 million Russians have fled. Close to 700k are casualties in war. Their sovereign wealth fund is evaporating. Interest rates are 21% and inflation is around 27%. A huge chunk of the productive capacity of the country is going on funding the war. If you think this is good, you have rocks in your head. Add in that all the data that Russia is providing to the IMF and others is most probably false. No amount of lies can prevent the inevitable collapse.
