And without having to fire a shot.

You're right about Elon Musk. You ripped him apart. Great job Jake.

Good to see Trump post something sensible. Strength is the only thing Putin understands. Let's hope it works. Slava Ukraini.

@guardsman2018 They prefer Russian war crimes and imperialism? Why?
33
@heyheyyoyo3583 Unfortunately it's not just loony leftists. We now have a section of the Republicans on the loony right that also embraces Russian style fascism.
21
Mexico is the US largest trading partner. Their relationship is only going to get stronger.
17
@allymac18 Europe can buy it from the US and donate it to Ukraine. It just takes political will and money.
17
@JakeBroe Let's hope so. I think at least 2-3 more need to be sunk to get the message across. Perhaps at least one of them could be Iranian.
14
@dmitryk2058 I agree. But there must still be some things that may restrain him such as whatever value he places on his life and that of his family. His Generals may not be so willing to die in a nuclear exchange. Presumably, after working systematically to extract hundreds of billions of dollars from the Russian economy over a 25 year period, one would think he would like to enjoy those riches or at least pass them on to his family. Surely Putin must have a strong will to survive and benefit from his riches. Why else has he worked so hard for all these years?
14
@andrew8168 Do you realise it's possible to tackle both problems at the same time? In fact, literally thousands of problems are being dealt with every single day.
12
Stay safe. Russia must be made to pay for all their crimes.
11
And from a numbskull who bankrupted a casino. The audacity!
11
Excellent comment.

Some of the European countries need to do a lot more. France's paltry $690 million is an absolute disgrace. The result is that Wagner/Russia is kicking the French out West Africa. Macron is pathetic.
8
@gordonlinton3555 Yes, USSR had around 25% of global GDP, while Russia has less than 2%. USSR oil and gas production volumes were as much as Russia today. The West is far larger as many of the former USSR, Russian colonies are now in the EU and are a part of NATO. If the USSR could not survive, how will a much weaker Russia?
7
@ЕкатеринаРакова-ч5х Tell me about Russian military aggression and colonialism. Tell me about Chinese colonialism and oppression. Does Tibet ring an bells? Do the Uighers have freedom or do they face genocide. If you want to criticise the West for past history, have a good look at your own and the nations you support. You are brazenly supporting the war crimes and genocide that Russia is committing in Ukraine right now. So how can you claim to have any morality? In your country you are not even free to say what you like without facing jail. In Russia just saying there is a war going on will get you up to 15 years in jail. If the West is so bad and so evil, why do almost all migrants want to move to the West? Why are they not clamouring to get into China or Russia or India? Because those countries are shit holes and even the people living there want to get out and live in the West. Why do the leaders and anyone wealthy enough to afford it from China, Russia and India buy homes in the West? Why do they send their children to get educated in the West? Why do their children want to remain living in the West rather than their home country? Why do they keep their money and wealth in the West? If life is so good in your third world shit hole countries, why don't you stay there? China and India are just cheap labour for the West. We can outsource those jobs to any other country we want and that is already happening. Stop and think. Why have China and India become wealthier and improved their standard of living over the past 20 years? Because the West created a world order that enabled that to happen and invested and partnered with you. Same for Russia up to 2014. Because of Europe partnering with Russia by investing and buying energy, Russia became richer. Now you want to shoot the very countries that helped you develop and grow. The world order has indeed been broken but not in the way you third-worlders think. It's not a multi-polar world. The new world order is one in which the rich Western countries no longer trust you or want to do business with you. You have alienated your customers. Without buyers in rich countries all your economies and your people will become much poorer. Westerners know that you hate them now. They have started to make the changes required to ditch China, India and Russia and only deal with friendly countries. That process will take years but it is happening.
7
@JakeBroe Anders is always on the ball.
7
A faster transition to green energy and thorium nuclear would make Russia irrelevant. Plus it would be great for the environment.
7
Thanks to both of you for your support for Ukraine.
6
The bill calls for "a strategy to hasten Ukrainian victory against Russia's invasion forces." This is the first the I've seen or heard the word victory being used. Great news! Slava Ukraini.
6
@vanhuvanhuvese2738 Believe what you like But I maintain that if the USSR could not survive a cold war with the West, neither will Russia be able to. Functioning like North Korea may not work in a country with the size and population of Russia and the culture is different too. Putin and his cronies will not be able to hold on to power as the standard of living declines.
5
@ramonandrajo6348 History can tell us a lot. The last time a stand off between the West and Russia happened during the cold war. Even though the Soviet Union was almost as powerful as the West, it collapsed under the pressure. What we can learn from that is that the same thing will happen to Russia eventually. That is obvious because Russia is no where near as strong today as the Soviet Union was. And the West is considerably stronger. Result: inevitable Russian collapse. You may disagree but to those who have lived through it once can see the writing on the wall. It's goodbye Russia and for many of the same reasons that the USSR collapsed. It seems to often start with a disastrous invasion of another country.
5
Talk is cheap. Let's see if Johnson follows through.
5
@oldworldpatriot8920 That's true. But at least he's making the right noises. Let's hope he influences Trump.
5
@dplocksmith91 I agree 100%.
4
Yes. The Soviet Union also had an economy of approx. 25%-30% of global GDP. Russia's share is around 1.5%. Putin's miscalculation is going to destroy Russia. It's only a matter of time.
4
@mowabb They would be speaking German if not for the help of the US.
4
@davemarten280 Sounds like you need a clearance from your mental health professional.
4
@MilanZimmermann Seems Rogan may have been punched in the ring a few too many times.
3
I can recommend ATP Geopolitics and Andrew Perpetua. Both channels are excellent.
3
Yes. The Soviet Union also had an economy of approx. 25%-30% of global GDP. Russia's share is around 1.5%. Putin's miscalculation is going to destroy Russia. It's only a matter of time.
3
@gordonlinton3555 So did the USSR and look at what happened to that entity. Half of it is now a part of the EU and NATO, despite the USSR being vastly stronger compared to present day Russia.
3
@ЕкатеринаРакова-ч5х Add Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria. Plus the former Central Asian republics are no longer under Russian rule. And of course Ukraine is not there to help Russia like in the past So Russia in indeed far weaker than the USSR. Russian annual GDP is less than 2% of global GDP. The USSR's was more than 20%. There's only one possible outcome here and that is Russia collapsing under the pressure.
3
@ЕкатеринаРакова-ч5х The Central Asian republics may support Russia politically but they are not part of Russia like they were a part of the Soviet Union. That means Russia cannot use their resources, military, economic or otherwise to try to change the global order The Soviet Union had lots of allies. Way more than Russia has. That did not save them. Russia is screwed in the long run.
3
@ЕкатеринаРакова-ч5х That's called globalisation. The US outsourced. It did not forget how to manufacture and it can outsource to any other country it chooses. If Apple decide to manufacture an iPhone in Mexico rather than China, who do you think loses? Apple profits continue. Shareholders in the US still get their dividends and the US government still collects taxes. Mexico gets richer. China gets poorer. The US has the option to reshore or find other outsource countries. And you can bet it will be friendly countries. Just another thought, the strange thing is that the main beneficiaries of globalisation have been China and India and they now want to destroy that world order Ok. Do it. The West will get richer because many of those manufacturing jobs will return. China and India will become poorer. Who in their right mind makes an enemy out of their biggest customers, the US and EU? This applies to China, India and Russia. The level of stupid beggars belief.
3
Lira is a traitor to the US and also to his adopted country Ukraine. He's also a narcissist and a hypocrite. Imagine aiding the Russian invasion of Ukraine and all of their war crimes. He could have avoided this by leaving Ukraine and going to live in Russia.
3
@BTinSF I have not heard anyone suggest the US has not done it's part. The US has been at the forefront of helping Ukraine and everyone who supports Ukraine is grateful for that help.
3
Born of a jackal
3
@Narodov1 The US can't be a negotiator because it's a NATO member and has a security agreement with Ukraine. Appeasement leads to the aggressor becoming more aggressive. Have you learnt nothing from WW2? Russia has made it clear it wants all the former USSR Republics back under their control.
3
Deutsche Welle is reporting that Mike Johnson is saying a vote on the Ukraine aid bill is going to be put to a vote today.
3
Kadyrov should never have accepted Putin's Early Grave infused with polonium tea.
2
@Vazzini42 It is not misleading in the context that Russia with its current population wants to fight the whole of the Western world, not just the US.
2
So Russia is arguing that it is not the successor state to the USSR at the UN and in the Security Council? It must be not be allowed to sit in place of the USSR.
2
So go on a peace miss it on to Moscow and convince Putin to stop.
2
I can't see how Russia can survive the sanctions in the long run. The USSR was far more powerful economically and militarily and still could not survive. The Russian Federation is doomed to collapse and disintegration in the next few years. The Chinese must be planning how to exploit that collapse to their maximum advantage.
2
Russians appear to suffer from some form of mental retardation. The only solution to the war is to give Ukraine every weapon they need to defeat Russia. The sooner we do that, the sooner the war will end.
2
Yes ofcourse. Why not?
2
Happy Independence day to Ukraine. Keep up the goid work Jake. You're a Ukrainian hero too.
2
The Wests timidity is emboldening Russia further. The lack of action over the Belarusian helicopters will lead to Belarus/Russia doing something even more provocative. NATO leaders need to grow some balls and be prepared to shoot when provoked.
2
@Jeremy_M_ Spot on. Most people are not aware that Putin did his master's thesis on energy and mineral resources. I'm sure there were many other reasons, but I believe none of those were more important than what you've written.
