If Russia had succeeded in capturing the whole of Ukraine, or even half of Ukraine, it most certainly would have been in Russia's best interests to do so Thankfully, they are not succeeding and Ukraine still has a realistic chance to win the war in the long run

If it was so easy, they would already have done it. China's military have no experience and likely suffer from similar levels of corruption as the Russian military. Talk is cheap.

@Oda__Nobunaga You are wrong. Taiwan is very well defended. China has almost no military experience. Especially at a very complex amphibious assault. A surprise attack is practically impossible. So Taiwan will get to use all their anti-ship missiles and from what Peter Zeihan says, perhaps they have enough time to assemble a few nukes. Very little chance of success. That's why they have not tried it already.

@scottsummers819 And unlike the US, which has had troops deployed virtually non-stop for 60 years, China's greatest military success in recent years has been running over Chinese protestors with tanks in Tiananmen Square. Doubt that's much of a preparation for seizing Taiwan.
