There's an easy fix to the immigration issues if the respective governments have the courage to bite the bullet. Instead of importing labor and granting residency, just give 1-3 year work visas with no possibility of such a visa leading to permanent residency. This is done in the Middle East and other countries.

@DropdudeJohn Yes. The length of the visa should be in the interests of Europe and the skill level of the job. Perhaps nurses or doctors could get a 3 year renewable visa as an example. But the understanding should be that those workers can earn and save money, but once their visa expires, they are returning to their home country to live. Their savings in Euros will go a long way towards living a good life back home.
