  1.  @bcanuck  Would they take the chance of launching a nuke? They know their missile failure rate better than anyone. What is the probability of a launched nuke hitting its designated target compared to hitting Russian territory? If they manage not to nuke themselves all they will achieve is getting the West to nuke them in retaliation. Doesn't sound like much of a strength to me. The generals in the Russian military know launching even one nuke is suicide for 145 million Russians.
