  3. The dependency went both ways. If Australia had retaliated by blocking iron ore shipments the Chinese would have been brought to their knees. Fortunately for Beijing, Australians understand that weaponising exports destroys your reputation as a reliable supplier.

  4.  @singlendhot8628  India is largely irrelevant to anyone but their immediate neighbours and that has been the case for millennia. It certainly has no effect on East Asian security.
