Are not all other decisions made the same way? You elect a government and that government passes legislation. What was different about the EU? Do you want a referendum on every decision the government makes?

@Joker-yw9hl That was not my question. My question was about the UK parliament voting to join the EU. The UK is supplying weapons and training to Ukraine. This could drag you into a war with a nuclear power. One that has already threatened to nuke your country. But the decision to help Ukraine was made without a referendum. No-one or not many people there seem to be complaining about it. If your parliament and government can make that decision without a referendum then why can't they also do the same about joining the EU? Where will you draw the line? Are you going to demand a referendum every time a complex decision needs to be made? One could also argue that the election preceding the UK joining the EU would be much like a referendum. I would expect that it would have been a massive issue throughout the election campaign. It sounds to me like you may need to make some significant changes to your political system. These are just my thoughts. I don't wish to argue with you. What's done is done now and the UK has to make the best of it.
