  1. David Cameron fast tracked a lot of "Box tickers" and actually saved her when her local Norfolk association wanted to get rid of her. I do think Westminster is a sideshow now. For me Globalisation destroyed the nation state democracy decades ago unfortunately. But it would be a bit better if we had people of substance. If only they could manage our decline with humility and concern for the masses. I remember running home from scouts on Thursdays (37 years ago) presented by Sir Robin Day and seeing people like Tony Benn, Enoch Powell, Roy Jenkins, Scargil. They were fascinating people with depth. Something happened to us....
