@hotrodrope1 you have no clue about "socialism" - most Americans have absolutely no clue what social democracy means, thinking it is some kind of Cuban/Russian totalitarian system, while most of Europe is run under Social Democracies and nearly non-countries in Europe are what to be referred to as socialistic. You have been scare crowed with the socialistic keyword since before the the fucking WWII and hammered even more with it after the cold war – one of your whole enemy pictures is painted with the Socialistic - You just see red and blue, while most other countries have a whole palette of ideological/political choices from far right to far left, with conservatives, liberals, and Social Democrats, Christian conservatives, greens and many more to choose from – and it works pretty well. Social Democracies have millionaires, startups, engineering, grassroots, hunters agriculture big farms, alternatives, stock exchanges – a huge diversity of people choosing how to live under the laws made by the people and parties they choose and not everybody is in somebody's pocket so hard they need to support fucking narcissists egomaniacs unconditionally.
Wake the fuck up, the USA is behaving like third world country, while you are supposed to be the leader of the free world, you run around making protests with automatic weapons to make a political point - WTF!? face your own idiotic misery and move on with life and stop blaming everybody else for it. You are cornering yourself because you apparently can not adapt to new circumstances that demand us all to change in one way or another.
Your system is so infiltrated by paid off politicians and Trump was certainly not the solution, hell no – a fucking egocentric lying con artists and real estate bully, reality show you hare fired fucktard that have failed more times than can be counted living in his golden tower that most of all look like a Russian oligarchs Palads. – Give me a break bro,. I get it that Biden is not really a favourite candidate, but if you don't understand why Biden got elected, then let me explain – he did not get elected because he is Biden, he got elected because Trump did not deliver close to anything and he could not handle the Corona Crisis, he could not calm the American people down, unite them and steer trough it as a leader for all – instead he just kept dividing you all, most of all to get attention – a fucking moronic performance, and no swamp draining, just firing people that would have a different view as him.
And now you will be back to square one, the system that you hate (with good reasons) will continue because Trump fucked up his chance to actually do something for the people other than just divide them and use the usual "it's them against us rhetoric" that is being used everywhere when populistic agenda is being launched. OHHH SOCIALISM DANGER. You don't know shit about it and you will never have socialism in the USA, but you might have to register to buy an army grade rifle, which in my eyes seems pretty fair. And forget your fucking oil jobs, and steel jobs and all these traditional jobs – Robots are coming, and most of these jobs are gonna be gone in 20 years, so you and all of us better prepare for some changes – the future has just arrived.

@mssouth1964 That is right, and also one reason he got elected at first. But IMO he did not show the real leadership needed and he was also a weak political player, like when he had the gov, shut down over funding for his wall – a bad scenario for him and a win-win for the Dems, and may I say an easy win, they should just say no. Secondary he failed to lead in a crisis, the still is around – there was not much great leader over that, nothing that would help people trusts and unite in such times.
And similar scenarios are where he starts cracking up, showing that his ego overrules the smarter choises – he hates not getting his will, he hates losing or rather not winning. Hitler also lost because he was a bad strategist on the war map, being obsessed with almost fictional realities, neglecting the advice of his far more capable field marshalls and Generals.
And now again he is dragging the stuff out, one can only speculate the reasons, including anything from the above mentioned, to economic gains, the pardoning of a lot of people to the execution death sentences – I mean what is it he wants to be remembered for?
As well as I hate the political establishment for all its games, Trump was and is just another game, with a plan that is hard to see or most at the time even understand.
Biden won because Trump did not seize the moment to unite America and propel ideas of the new Great America so that all could see it with him – Hi completely failed to voice a program for the next 4 years, and he failed miserably as a communicator in times of extreme crisis – sorry but you do not win swing states that way – regardless of who you are for that President position.
The best thing Trump has produced in his 4 years is getting so many people to vote, both for and against him.
He is a divider, not an uniter – and after all, it is called the United States of America, not the Divided States of America.

@mssouth1964 So perhaps your President should have taken the security briefings, secondary not let Putin play him like a fool. But he did not take the briefings and he was played, and now apparently the USA has been hacked by Russian links and not a word from Trump.
Spies and agents are a part of the big game overall, they are there and have been all the time, but the real serious agents you will most likely never hear about anyway. All countries have spies and agents and most of the times they are not there to inflict an ideological system but to prevent conflicts arising, to gain the upper hand in those and of course also focus on military operations, and natural resources, industrial secrets etc. Get over your Socialist Phobia, you have no idea what it means as explained already. No countries in e.g Europe are to be regarded Socialistic or even further out Communistic, they are at best Social Democracies which is something completely different – so get a fucking grip about it.
And I say again that so very few people even on the very left would want to live under a Chinese or Russian leadership style – because it is authoritarian, meaning that your votes do not really count, and the parliamentary diversity is non-existing. Anybody who would like to live under such a system should think twice, the same as no one would live under a pure Monarchy since it is essentially the same shit.
And the USA should be mindful about its system because your political diversity is officially counted in 2, while in reality, you would properly have political ground for at least 5-6 different parties. You have Gerrymandering, you have an Electoral College, and you have immense influence by the most wealthy organisations – not something that is really reassuring for the future of "western democracy" and thereby what is thought to be the best in "Freedom".

@mssouth1964 Trump is closets to leaving office, and perhaps even leaving the USA. Individual rights work well in the USA if you have enough money, the winners take it all, so stop the whining about lost elections and fraud from someone who has been a con personality for most of his grown life. Trump failed to create a "collective" mindset for individual freedom because injustice, exclusion polarized divide, hush money and continued lying over doing close to nothing, have nothing to do with individual freedom, neither does your shotgun. If you need a shotgun to feel safe, then you might need to consider why you actually need it.
And extreme collectivism has nothing to do with adjusting a supposed to be a balanced system in regard to the leadership chosen for a country for limited time periods. And here we go again – every time you hear anything that you can get to rime on Socialism, you unite and prepare for war, not understanding that e.g Europe have had Social Democracies for decades now – and a variety of governments in the different countries from right over centre to left, and that it is not Scocialism.
Sorry, but "you" might consider having been fucking brainwashed with the word "Socialism" over the last +50 years – perhaps replace it with "Teamwork" and add "Dignity" to vocabulary for the individual person. And please do me a favour and put some weight behind this fucking word "Freedom" [what does it actually mean, Freedom to do what?] that seems to get everybody a hard-on, while you are being screwed over by large cooperations and individuals like Trump. Yea! just give them all free reign and every American can reach the American dream.
Did you know that in 2015 the USA ranked 21 in the world, for countries with the best options to actual reach the so-called American Dream – just chew on that for a moment. If you have money in the USA everything is possible, if you don´t you a quite screwed and the military might be your only chance. So stop talking about that socialistic nonsense, even the far left in the USA don't want a new fucking China or Russia – nobody in their right mind would want that.

@rm5282 You might be right in your assessment, I can not judge that. In my opinion and as a European I find it hard to understand that two parties can represent the interests of +325 Million people. My guess would be a that a third party would not even be enough – I could easily see 5-6 parties in the USA. But one does not need more parties just to have more, it is more like when you have different representation you force the politicians to work with compromises and thereby often find more balanced solutions. Not saying its like cherry fix all. Another thing is the issue of the corruption of politicians and their parties – this will become will be more difficult with the power structure spread out. You have one king and only he need to be corrupted, you have many leaders and it becomes more difficult to corrupt them all at once. The Culture of the USA is different than overseas no doubt about it, but as with the two major parties the rest of the culture often seems very "dualistic" it is either or, and anything in between is regarded weak or it becomes too complicated to comprehend.
If we take a look at the Trump supporters, then that is not one group – as already mentioned many times many that voted for Trump does not even like him or the way he acts, the bible belt made deals with the current government because of money interests, while in ideology Trump is really not their perfect man. In the 2016 election, the support from Trump came from 5 major groups, including small business etc. Then you got conservatives and centre orientated democrats, various groups of liberals, and progressives, people who both want business and green tech, then you have the major money players which so far was heavily represented by the Oil industry and big pharma, the first one which after all can start seeing then end to their reign, and then there are extreme left and extreme right movements – and the American Voter essentially has only two choices.
