To much freaking Fan boy and nationalistic pride going on. The new Corvette is much better car and overall product the the former model - it deserves credit and respect in many ways not only from may I say too proud and we are always better mentality Americans, but also from us very often arrogant Europeans. Furthermore the C7 shows the US car industry is finally awakening from it´s slumber where it lingered on its own market and consumer behaviors way too long. New US automotive products are rapidly developing, but just imagine where the US automotive industry could have been already without decades of R&D slumber. In that regard there is not be any means a reason to diss out to a company like BMW which is a heavyweight R&D developer that never did rest refining and developing their products. They still make freaking great and satisfying drivers cars. Those Europeans that diss this Corvette to hard are afraid because it´s a very good car (and not a plastic supercar) and those Americans that hit so hard on BMW for a win between a 4 seats out of production Sports Coupe vs a brand new 2 seats Sport Car - are just showing how much they hunger to get a win out of frustration of not always being no 1 - sadly. This comparison was way off and did neither car justice. And now Edmunds look what you created in the thread, 90% throwing mud at great cars which any automotive enthusiast should be happy exists.

Yea well, they are both immensely great super saloons. I am usually for BMW but it almost feels like the M5 is a bit understated exterior wise. What Mercedes has done to their exterior language the last 5 years must be acknowledged - This AMG has a sublime classic MB presence and great stance. I think it is to be expected that the next generations of BMW will be more expressive than the current. The BMW interior functionality is nearly always great but the MB has the upper hand here for exclusivity feel, a slightly greater attention to the line flow in the cabin makes it a bit more special. In the end, the choice is personal and it is a long time since I have been in between BMW and MB.
