I am a BMW fan but some first look impressions I do not fancy about this new Z4: Large Front Wheel overhangs – A sad direction for many modern cars but in particular for BMW that always had great stances and very short front wheel overhangs. Headlamps: Cut-off eyelids – a very uncommon design for the BMW DNA and a far less aggressive look – And may I say they are way too large and send reminders back to the period where all the big car models were scaled down to the smaller models resulting in small cars with way too large headlamps – with Pegeout and Small entry Mercedes as the worst examples. Suppression over the rear wheel arches – could be much worse but the lead to the sexy rear end has become rather large, bulky and unmasculine affair, resulting in far less elegance. Oval Doorhandle cup: Ohh No! don´t do this and why? - Must be a more elegant solution to a door handle in 2018. Perhaps it is the camera, but the overall profile is slightly on the fat side – on the other hand, this new Z4 appears to be fairly compact which I would regard as a plus. All details look great, rims are great looking, color, interior etc. I do also like the sculpting of the front parts, grill and fenders deeply cut. But yea well not immensely overwhelmed by the first impression looks of this new Z4 – I see forward to view this in the flesh and hope it is one of those cars that looks much better in real. Right now I can´t help thinking about some of the failed Mercedes cars in the same class, appearing like sport but not really taking the full step to be sport and lands somewhere in the middle. – A neighbor has a black well equipped and well kept Z4 former generation and that is far sexier than this in my eyes.
