  1. Yes one should think so, at least for how our curve of advanced technology is growing. On the other hand we used most of a century to stay with rather in efficient fossil fuel systems, even that many technologies was already giving us better opportunities. A mixture of consumer want or want not with the current times, as well as some companies protecting investments and other prospects held back a wide range of technologies for long time periods.
