So many US citizen agree that Border Patrol could need more resources – at the same time the Wall itself seems of little relevance – Citizens do not really care how this is solved as long as the solution will work. Trump, on the other hand, needs something to be remembered for (other than being the Twitter nut case president) and just leveling the resources and apply better technology and more personnel is apparently not enough for the "Builder" President. "Professional" traffickers are as skilled as "professional" Drug Traffickers – Surely a Wall is not going to stop these people and their immensely capable organizations' – boats, planes, submarines, and smart border crossings methods etc. And for the desperate few Ropes, Ladders, Showels for tunnels, Wirecutters may turn out to be enough to conquer and unguarded wall. it is hard to see the National Emergency when accordingly to Trump himself the country is doing better than ever.
