  7. Really good review. I like that Jaguar worked on implementing some EV space driving sound – That is needed not only for the fun (fluff) but also for passengers. In fact, I would suggest it should be an option to add as an external sound as well – mainly for security because nearly all EVs are going to accelerate fast by any normal car standards and pedestrians and bicyclists needs that sound as a nonvisual reference in urban traffic. And yes one of the main problems with EVs are Network – in fact, something that can be solved since, in essence, nearly all urban and suburban areas have electricity. If one can not charge the EV then the old promise of "freedom" that a car offers is gone. The VW charging station mentioned sound ridiculous – slow charging at a horrendous price. And I am also afraid that the world once again must walk through the Cable Pain as it has done with computer and accessories for those, because that the global car manufacturers cannot agree on a few standards – it contradicts the whole idea behind the "EV movement" which is a "Green" Idea – Meaning that we all should start using less for the greater benefit of all. ( I am not stating that is it so, just the initial aura of the Promise/idea). I have driven a few EV´s lately and in a city, it simply makes total sense – Fast Acceleration, no local pollution, easy stop and go - one foot driving. And what I found most rewarding is drive flow – And EVs just seems to eat road in a complete at ease way – In fact, I found myself speeding nearly without noticing (that is not really a good thing or is it?). And don´t get me wrong here is still drive an older manual car that I love – but for the future and particularly in urban environments, EVs makes a lot of sense, that is if charging can be offered far more abundantly. Also, it is worth to consider that in just 4 years the battery capacity has nearly doubled as seen in Formula-E. When all the big companies are focused on this surely it will develop much faster than was the case so far if they release it early is another question though. At least in Europe, there will be no way around it anymore with the below 100g emissions regulation being enforced around 2021 (give or take a few years). Nearly all new cars will be Hybrid or EVs to live up to this standard unless the Fuel and Automotive industry introduce an alternative like low emissions biofuel or similar alternatives.
