  1. If a metaverse is to exist on these laid out premises, it then means that all the big tech giant’s would need to adhere evenly to these fundamentals which at the current state does not seem plausible due to how such endeavors are driven - content and money. This may be good enough but essentially does not change anything. First there will be “metaverses” rather than a metaverse - why would this change the way we think and act? - the internet has Not made us smarter socially, so far - one could argue that it’s literally frying our brains, enhances stupidity and feeds apathy. For this to really work they need a real driving factor that is not founded in the usual business mythology of the last +70 years. Another thing is the computing power needed - who will run that and how much energy will be needed - blockchain tech is extremely power hungry and then 3,5 dimensions to it and we might as well use all energy sources on the planet both fossil, nuclear and green to keep it up. This video talks about the premises for an idea but delivers absolutely no real insights, no actual vision other than the wishes and need for the platform. One could just call it a VR+AR information and entertainment interface. Honestly I’m of the impression that eg Elon Musk is onto something much more likely, being the implant and merger with AI wich indeed will transform us without knowing to end. If this is to be a real game changer then it will not come from the current media tech conglomerates as they are literally in a war on all fronts, they have never even been able to agree on cable connections for as long as we have had computers around. And then there is the safety aspect of it - how just how can they ever provide a user safe space for such a complex interlinked multi experience - as presented it will just become a virtual world with “payments” to enter spaces. Will it come, yes possibly - will it be safe, most likely not and if then only with the assistance of AI which frankly is not really the best place to start at the current moment in time. Our main problem amongst many are differences in cultures, the ever need for capital gains, the fact that information is power and that we generally still are tribal in our nature which leads to all sorts of heavy problems. Bring me a fix for that and by someone who does not lead an already established tech giant and the metaverse could become a different source for human coexistence if everyone buys in on it - if it’s just a part of humans then it’s not Metaverse is it now?.
