Such a set up can only ask for miss conducts in every aspect of the law system. Any option for making business will always be explored regardless and it is also the case for the privatized prison and jail setups. Some things are best solved when there are an open market and competition and other things are best kept at the state and public service – Prison and Jails belongs without a doubt in the second option because otherwise, your business will be trading with human lives – Which essentially mimics slavery. That is to my best of knowledge something the USA abandoned quite some time ago. Longer sentences for quite non-aggressive or violent crimes like possession of marijuana is simply obscure – Taking into consideration that there is now states in the US where it is legal and becoming a flourishing business to produce marijuana, even that part of the whole issue is of major contradiction.
