The worst? What an exaggeration. This person should just say they don't like Spain, but to say it's the worst country in the West is just pure exaggeration. Spain isn't perfect, but looney left and right are so much worse in the US. This person is so wrong about the gastronomy. Spanish food is absolutely delicious. I know it's a matter of taste, but Spain has so much variety. Bullfighting is outdated. Killing animals for sport is no longer amusing to must of us. I lived in 5 Europeans countries, and Spain was my favorite, by far.

Good point on the language aspect. I don't get people who live in a country without learning the language. If you ask me, it's a lack of respect. If a country opens its doors, the least one can do is to learn the local language. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Stu, many English speakers complain when people don't learn English, especially Americans and British, but they rarely learn to speak other languages even when they migrate. As usual, I enjoyed the video.

The official language in Spain is Castellano. It doesn't make sense that these autonomous regions would want to speak Catalan or Euskera in Madrid , where they also have their language, which everyone know is the official language of the country. Parliament should be conducted in the country 's official language.

I love Spain to visit, but not to live. Americans tend to romanticize Europe. Many Americans and Brits never learn the local language. Spain has the best standards of living than any other country in which I have lived. Try living in the south of Italy. An 11% unemployment rate reflects work ethics in Spain if you ask me. Spain is a great country, but it could be better. When it comes to Spain food, I have no complaints.

Stu, I believe that digital nomads are being blamed for the housing crisis.i believe we can blame the homeowners who are just being greedy, The Americans, for example, who are encouraging other Americans to move there because they use their services, are partially to blame. Folks with money are not struggling to find a place to live. They are outbidding the average Portuguese. It's really a shame.

Mexico is just as nice, if you ask me.

Stu, I've visited just about every state in the US. There is something for everyone. Life is what you make it. One doesn't have to change countries to enjoy a good quality of life. Believe it or not, there are very cheap places to live in the US as well. I lived in Spain many years ago. It's absolutely beautiful and I love the cuisine- I wouldn't want to live there again, mainly because of the racism. I'm working age, although not young- I know that there is age discrimination. Last, but not least- I never compare the US to small countries like Spain and Portugal. I have never been a victim of any crime in the US, but I was robbed in Portugal and I was a victim of home invasion in Alicante, though I was not harmed. Every place has safe and unsafe places.
7
How many territories have been populated by Europeans?

Stuart, the strangest thing about the Rubiales case is that she didn't look like she was resisting. I know this isn't politically correct, but I believe that too much of a big deal has been made of it. Was it inappropriate? Indeed, it was, but people make mistakes. There are more serious things happening in the world. Jenni didn't look bothered by the kiss if you ask me.
6
Es la guagua.

I agree totally with Sanchez. I find the Spaniards a bit lazy. It is part of the culture. I don't believe that will change. People from Latin America are much more hard-working. Of course, it's never good to generalize.
5
Corruption in Spain? Say it isn't so.

You do a great job at keeping us informed. I can't believe the number of veiwers who dont hit the like button. Racism in football is normal in Europe. Anything surprises me anymore. The players should be abke to play the sport without being taunted. Could you imagine being taunting everytime you go to work. There is lot of racism in the US, but thar tyoe of behavior would not be tolerated. Do I think Spain is a racist country? The answer would be yes. There is also job positions that are not being filled because many companies don't want to hire non Spaniards. I remember when I lived there, I would enquire about job postings in the window, they would say that the position has been filled. Walk by the next day, and the sign is still there. They are doing themselves a disservice. They will always be in crises with that attitude.
3
I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to learn the language of the place in which they live. I find that English speakers tend to have that attitude. For example, many Americans are moving to Portugal, but let's be honest. They are not learning Portugal. When you live in a place, and you don't speak the language- you're really missing out on the culture.

Stu, we must remember that millions of European migrants were given land and encouraged to move to the Americas, Australia and New Zealand, just to name a few places. The US and the EU take trillions of dollars out of Africa yearly. We can blame the greedy African leaders, but Europe must also be aware that it is doing a lot of damage in Africa. If they change their policies, the people will stop coming. My heart goes out to the innocent Canaries who feel overwhelmed.

The birth place of Franco.

Spain is still better if you ask me. If Americans operated like the Portuguese, we would be considered incompetent. I will take the US over slow, bad service. Portugal? No, obrigado.
3
Sorry to hear that you experienced something like that. There is no use in trying to reason with someone who thinks like that. Take with a grain of salt. He was obviously the one in the wrong. Hurt people, hurt people.
3
I love that village. I didn't get to tour the castle due to closure. Trujillo is also very nice.
2
What a nice castle!
2
There is no respect for bulls in Spain. Tradition over humanity, I guess. Personally, I don't understand killing animals for entertainment. Maybe they can learn from their neighbors in Portugal.
2
Create a job for yourself. Sometimes, you have to be creative.

Sanctions put in place by the US and sustained by the EU. They continue to bring countries down economically when they don't do as they please. The US and the EU and their policies cause mass migration. As for Olivenza, the Portuguese will never get that city back from Spain. It has both Spanish and Portuguese influence. That's the charm of the city. Both countries have stolen more land than they need.
2
What does this have to do with Olivenza? Spain and Portugal have always fought over territory.
2
Stu, I've always wondered if the Virgin ever appear to non catholic individuals. I wonder if she ever appears to anyone who is Muslim or Buddhist.
2
That is typical customer service in Spain. I'm sorry to hear about that. I live in the US, where we mostly value customers. I was in Jaen a few years ago where a waiter just ignored me. He just pretended that I wasn't there and served other arriving customers. That is one of the reasons that I could never live there again.

You simply can't beat Spanish architecture.

Stu, the US, and the EU have kept Africa unstable for years now. France is the worst offender, taking trillions of euros out of Africa every year. Africa is not poor, but every time these African countries get a leader who does not do what the West wants, they are overthrown or killed. They want the Africans to stay and suffer. The US and the EU have unfair sanctions on many countries. They are the reason why there are so many migrants fleeing their countries in search of a better life.

Great video! Educational. You are making me miss Spain.

Ucles is definitely worth a visit. Thanks, Stu.

Benidorm lawlessness has been building for years. Many tourists love to have sex on the beach there, and the thieves can hardly wait to make off with their valuables. Most dangerous city? Hardly.

Stu, jobs don't fall from the sky. The government and individuals create jobs. The unemployment rate has always been high in Spain, as far as I can remember. I believe that it has a lot to do with the attitudes of the Spaniards. Customer service in Spain suck. I will never forget your story about the montadito that fell and the waiter's attitude. I enjoy going to Latin America because the service is second to non. Spaniards can come off as rude. I remember when I was in a hotel in Madrid and the receptionist shouted across the lobby that I had to check out before 11:00. This was at 9:00 in the morning. Only the Spaniards can improve unemployment in Spain. They need better education and more job creators.

Yes, Stu, I love this city. It gets pretty hot in the summer. I was there a few years ago. Besides going to a cafe and having a waiter to completely ignore me, I found the locals relatively friendly. There are a lot of cheap properties there. Enjoy!

Thank for sharing, Stu.

It's not a good comparison. Europeans had more freedom to invade. That's the only difference.
1
That is so true !
