  7. I don't care what people think about me as an African American. African Americans are obsessed with what people think about them. I love Cape Verdean music. I lived in Portugal. I'm not a fan of the Portuguese or the Africans from the colonies. Many Cape Verdeans see themselves as Portuguese. They won't date Africans, but they date the people who enslaved them them for 400 plus years. There is a lot of colorism in the Portuguese and Spanish colonies. The young lady who said they don't west Africans doesn't realize that she is west African. The Portuguese have messed them messed up. I am impressed with the Cape Verdeans level of English
