  1. We actually did once in 1974. When the USA greenlighted Turkey to invade and occupy Cyprus. We left the military section of NATO for a few years. The results: The USA not only did not depart, but they also started funding Turkey even more while leaving Greece isolated in terms of troops and weapon system. Turkey started being upgraded while Greece's defence remained on a rudimentary level and violations started again and again until we were blackmailed to join again. You see that's the problem, you can ''officially'' get out of NATO, but NATO will not depart from your country.

Same for Syria?? Georgia which happened with full UN approval?? Chechnya and Ukraine where they intervened to save their Russian-majority populated lands from being slaughtered by the western-sponsored Nazis and Islamist terrorists??
