  5. Well, of course you did! What you fail to realize is that you alone are the subject of your experiment. Even as you believe you are triggering people, you are being triggered. As you cannot really know anybody online intimately, you have no rigorous data for your experiment. Except yourself, of course. But when you publish your findings in a scientific journal, please contact me. I'd love to read through them!

  8. Neuroscientists study the brain, which produces emotions. Emotions are what the brain does. Specific emotions can actually be triggered by stimulating certain parts of the brain. We don't fully understand the brain yet, but we're always making progress. We need not resort to magical explanations for human behavior or world events.

This is an attempt to hijack science into woo. "...it's pull on our make up" is an assertion for which you have zero to show. "Just because you can't intellectualize it or rationalize it doesn't make it any less true." Just because you assert "it's true" doesn't make it so. The possibility of something, no matter how strongly you want to believe it, does not make it probable, especially when there is nothing to show for it. "Humans have always behaved in predictable patterns and astrology gives us clues and insights." Just like necromancy and palmistry do. In other words, zilch.

Do these types of conclusions just come with the territory of believing whatever you want?
