@thearmchaircritique163 The mental disorder is called gender dysphoria. Transitioning is the treatment. It seems that gender identity is something you'd rather not try to understand, and so to you, if someone's gender identity does not match their genitalia, they have have a mental disorder. The very term denotes something is inherently "wrong" with them. That is untrue. We've learned from history, however, that there is plenty wrong with the willful ignorance that leads to misclassification.

@Bassguitarist192 Of course it was. Alexander Blue simply needs to blow off some steam. He would like to propagate the lie that a need for medication and/or surgery somehow negates the validity of the gender identity hardwired in the brain. Alexander would love to define "natural" for you because he refuses to try to understand you.

Your comments seem to come from a very constricted/sheltered upbringing. Get out into the world. There's no binary.

@jerrycurl6291 In fact, gender is still being researched and there are no definite conclusions. Your assertion is, therefore, baseless. Your need to assert this is more telling than anything, though.

Oh, such a great question! On point! So many tender egos here.

Awww, you say social justice warrior like it's a bad thing. Isn't that telling?
4
@Pepestock It used to be a complimentary or at least neutral term. Social justice simply means justice on a societal level. Being a warrior for that cause has no negative implications. I know when the term took on negative connotations: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2015/10/07/why-social-justice-warrior-a-gamergate-insult-is-now-a-dictionary-entry/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.b7d724ed14c1 You can roll your eyes if you want, but it's time to reclaim the term for the good that it means.

@aliens566 Asserting something doesn't make it a fact. Gender dysphoria is a condition that is treated by transitioning. That's a fact.
3
@aliens566 As I said, transitioning is the treatment for gender dysphoria, so the treatment is working fine. What you are referring to is the suicide attempt rate among trans people. That 2015 study reveals pervasive mistreatment and violence against trans people in every aspect of life. Are you implying that transitioning per se is the reason for suicide? That's incorrect. It is the abuse thereafter. Are you part of that abuse? If so, you can tell yourself, "I abuse transgender people and then absolve myself of all responsibility by blaming their gender expression."
3
@aliens566 "The suicide rate exceeds that of soldiers at war..." Irrelevant to the topic. "Assuming that this is entirely due to social pressures is absolutely ridiculous when it comes to nearly half the population." Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better about being transphobic. It's the report that you mentioned which points to the truth of this. "Half the population?" Whatever do you mean by that? The study you link only goes further to prove my point. Committing suicide while transitioning is also irrelevant in alleviating the responsibility of those who drive them to it. If you have anything at all to show that the high suicide rate among transgender people is caused by the actual act of gender transitioning, I'm all ears.

Conflating humans with automobiles? I guess you really are a car.
1
@aliens566 No, that was an aside. You believe transitioning is what leads people to suicide, and not the societal abuse they receive, do you not? Prove it.

@L M What have you said? Nothing Cryptic meaninglessness.

What is the "gender theory" that you don't agree with? And why don't you agree?
