TommyGunGaming I'll address this - "The Same sex marriage is a disgrace to your town." The only disgrace here is your bigotry. It's becoming increasingly clear which side of history your mindset will land on. The wrong side. You have zero logical reasons to be against same-sex marriage. Go ahead. Try.

CStubbsSubs Why not?

+zach vanw What you said was, "I do have a slight problem with them being married." And now you say, "I have no problem with them enjoying the same rights." Those two statements are at odds with each other. Which is it?
2
+Bruce Moellenhoff We, the people, don't get to strip the rights from any minority. Still, the latest Pew poll shows that the majority of Americans are pro-same-sex-marriage.

Congratulations, John!

You remind me a bit of Chris in the morning from Northern Exposure.

I have a good friend (that used to be) prone to mispronunciations. One day we were talking on the phone and he used a word I was sure was wrong, and I was about to correct him when I thought that maybe I should check first. I said nothing and looked it up after we hung up. Who knew? I In describing someone's appearance, I swore he meant to say "unkept." I had no idea that "unkempt" was even a word. Glad I didn't say anything, but kind of mystified as to how that one got by me my whole life (I was at least 35 at the time).

It was a great interview. And where else will you find Hank Green with his shirt tucked in?

Getting stuck on the word "examine," pronouncing like "eggz-a-mine" in school around 1971 while taking turns reading. I think it was 1st or 2nd grade. I was a pretty good reader and speller, so I was kind of perplexed. I knew the word, but it just wasn't coming together.

zach vanw Your honesty is appreciated. I would only ask you to re-examine your own words: As a Christian(this in no way represents all Christians everywhere) I believe marriage is a sacred thing, and should only be shared between a man and a woman. I am not religious, so the notion of "sacred" (in the divine sense) means nothing to me. Please notice that your religion has permitted you—convinced you, more likely—to exclude gay people from your definition of sacred. The question of "what kind of Christian" you represent would be answered a million different ways, and is almost meaningless. A better question is, what kind of human do you represent?

Hank cleans up—tucks the shirt in and wears a tie and vest. Looking like a million, Hank.

"no genetic heritability of sexual orientation" So I guess it's a choice? Tell me when you chose.
1
My goodness, just look at your continued god-claims, each one immediately crumbling. Such presuppositionalist twaddle, and you want to be taken seriously?
1
"God is…." Nothing to show? Nothing to claim. Move along folks. Nothing to see here.
1
"Believe that Jesus Christ is your savior for all your sins" No. That's where the trouble begins - believing what's drummed into your head without thinking.
1
Are you serious?

If sex is a choice, refrain, please, if it's not too late. Associating HIV with homosexuality simply strings together non-sequiturs in your further attempt to somehow attach a lack of principles to sex that personally confuses you. The association fallacy. Please don't pretend to be concerned about anybody. It's clear you are not.

IDaniel Grant & so many others are part of a malicious army of youtubers proliferating lies about nonexistent or quack gay "studies." Sometimes they pose as gay men & then exhibit all of the qualities they'd like you to think gay men actually possess - all the negative stereotypes. Sometimes not. But they lie and each use has many accounts. Further, some of them will create a sock account with your user name and basically hijack your identity. And so far there's nothing youtube can do about it.

"What is unprincipled is to be guided by impulses." There is nothing unprincipled about this. It's only your personal fear of the type of intimacy you can't comprehend that leads you to such an asinine conclusion, as well as your apparent lack of the faculty of empathy. It's only labeling as unprincipled that which challenges your personal comfort zone that sounds like "a whole of nothing here." You've nothing to show for your claims - only emotional appeals to your "eewww!" factor. Grow up.

They most certainly can. If they have the balls.

Sexual orientation is biologically innate. And of course we must speak of sexual orientation, not just homosexuality, or we are guilty of special pleading. We have not found one gene that codes for eye color or height either. I think these traits are considered polygenic—lots of genes acting together. That's likely for sexual orientation as well. And if it turns out to be not the case, I imagine science will continue its search.
1
You have nothing to show for your claim. And you pretend to speak for your imaginary best-superfriend-who-hates-all-the-same-people-you-do as if any work has ever been accomplished on your behalf to show he exists. None has - zilch. The instant a god-claims rolls off your tongue, your arguments crumble. Superstitious justification of personal bigotry is not only lazy, but cowardly.
1
Sexual orientation has zero to do with "principles." It is a natural, biological/psychological/romantic drive which, when expressed between consenting adults, is a full realization of humanity, benefitting the couple, harming nobody. It is not "just raw emotion and longing for orgasm." What is unprincipled is creating a double standard for those people you don't understand just so you can call them unprincipled, rationalizing your bigotry by acting like a moral scold when you have nothing.
