Prior to the surgery the person was still what their brain told them they were, penis or not. You respect people less than you respect their genitals. That's sad.

  8. 888COMPAQ No, I say it's wired in the brain–a biological phenomenon. "Mind" is something that brain does, not a thing itself. Gender is a human attribute. Vegetables are not. There goes your carrot.

  9. 888COMPAQ The second sentence does not logically follow from the first. A person's gender may or may not be defined by what's between their legs. You're having a difficult time with this, I can see. The fact remains that there are many people whose brain-gender does not match the gender of their anatomical genitalia.  Labeling them according to their genitalia to spite them and make yourself feel superior seems to say much more about you than  them.
