@breezeout Syria collapsed because its own people didn't want to fight for it. They foolishly believed an Islamist would be better for them, so now they can deal with Turkey and Isn't Real. Nagorno-Karabakh was internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, and much like Syria, the Serbian government wasn't willing to send its own to fight, but expected Russia to. Regarding Ukraine— if Russia's doing so badly, why is everyone suddenly talking about negotiating? Why is there debate as to whether or not to conscript 18-24 year olds? Don't be dense, man. You can hate your enemy without deluding yourself.

@goran77ish If you want to be anti-Russian, at least get your facts right. Russia (USSR) had just collapsed, it was too weak to secure its own internal borders let alone project power into the Balkans.

 @theline-o9y If you do that, a new international body will form without them. They have no reason to go along with the rules of the UN if they aren't offered any incentive to stay within it.
