The economy improved- in fact, restaurants boomed because the staff previously too poor to go out to eat now had the disposable income. Meanwhile, 80% of Trump's tax cut went straight into the pockets of executives, CEOs, and shareholders (via stock buybacks, bonuses, and dividends). Capitalism assumes people are self-interested, but businessmen will re-invest their money instead of just taking it? What a fucking joke. Trickle down has never worked.

Also it's worth mentioning that lots of campus polling stations have been closed due to Republican prerequisites for stations which just so happen to affect only college voting. And the sudden shutdown of Latino-majority neighborhood polling stations..

In fact, if I'm not mistaken, that is the rationale behind the $15 figure- adjusted for inflation since the last time it actually increased relative to inflation (early 1980s), the minimum wage today would be roughly $15/hr. It frankly baffles me that people don't get it until you put it in the simplest terms- gas used to cost $1.83/gallon in 1978, but national minimum wage has not budged. $7.25 in 1978, $7.25 now.
