It's a childish, petty nationalistic pride. Like a toddler saying "look at me, I can do that too!" Russian government needs to stop being so insecure and just work on improving itself (or rather, the oligarchs need to either be kicked out or their money taken).

@johnc2438 Not quite. For being the most sanctioned country in the world (likely in history), their economy has remained astoundingly stable. The ruble rebounded extremely quickly and the central bank acted aggressively to minimize bleeding. Rather impressive in such a bad situation

@hydrolifetech7911 I'm more amused that you care enough to comment a year after all that. Can you explain to me how you made the jump, in your head, that acknowledging Russia's economy performed against sanctions better than expected, means I'm an ultra nationalist? Go ahead. I'd love to hear your reasoning. What logical steps did you take to assume that conclusion?
