@richardsanders.4624 Isn't it strange that you think you should have control over the will of the very people whom you're claiming already share your opinion? If this many Ukrainians don't want to fight, maybe that should tell you something about whether or not this conflict should even continue. It's for them to decide after all, not you. Do you hate Russia more than you value Ukrainian lives? You want to send them to the front to spite your enemy? Are these the Western values you're fighting for?

@kathrinscharrer3923 The difference is that your country is not being actively threatened even when you're acquiescing to the US. Yeltsin tried that too, and the US supported Chechen incursions into Dagestan. Imagine the US, in exchange for ownership of Greenland, supported a right-wing Denmark to retake Schleiswig. That's what happened in real life for Russia. It's not "lost land", it's securing defensible borders against a foreign power openly wanting to control and extract your natural resources for itself. There isn't another option, Russia already tried the diplomatic route in the early 2000s.
