Because a recent surge of people watched that Adam Ruins Everything video, and it percolated out through the Internet from there.

@billr3053 Yeah, no. You're extremely naive if you think that— or you've never had a greedy, opportunistic boss. Why would they reward an employee when they can just take advantage of them for as long as they believe the lie? Extra work for no additional labor expense? Sign me up! That's the mentality too many employers have nowadays. Workers didn't start acting like this for no reason— "quiet quitting" is a reaction to greedy bosses waving the carrot on stick in front of their employees but never actually raising wages.

I don't think it will collapse anytime soon. The flexibility of fiat means it is too valuable (ha) to be abandoned now— certainly by national governments. Russia and China, interestingly, have been buying a lot of gold recently, maybe in anticipation of a shift. Or maybe to safeguard against the U.S.-led global financial system. Either way, it's interesting, but I don't think it or this new wave will mean the end of fiat

I've never been more confident!

I'm still very confused— how can an NFT be applied to a fundamentally fungible work of art (digital, being infinitely reproducable)? I get Jack Dorsey selling the rights to his tweet, as there is only one of those in the world, and the identity, rather than the likeness, of the tweet is being sold. But selling the picture of Nyan Cat? How does that even work? What if it is reproduced, with one pixel altered? Is that a new product to be sold?

I think they're talking about material resources being simulated too, not just currency lol
