@mamont33 That quote was from a settler in the West Bank, not Gaza. Stop trying to hide your crimes

@Ethan-xf4or I'm not so sure. Russia's military has more combat experience than any of them, even British, and the very best they could do is contain Russia. But it is too large to conquer or get concessions from Russia. They would just wait until their armies were slowly killed off in guerrilla warfare (or the winter, or muddy autumn).

@user-gx9xf2zb6o "Oppressing Hong Kong" lol, after the British took it from China? They have every right to do whatever they want with it. The West has no right to complain. Tibet is about water control, and even the Dalai Lama to this day says that Tibet should be a part of China, just with more cultural freedom Uyghur is a different story, but even then it is cultural suppression, not actual genocide. Honestly why do you cry about things that your country has almost certainly done to benefit itself already? Are others not allowed to, now that you've gotten yours? Are you gonna gatekeepe national progress

RTX3090 SLI owner Which part of the UNCLOS are you talking about? As far as I'm aware, it states that only 12 nautical miles out from the shore of a country is legally within its jurisdiction, and an additional 6 miles for exclusive fishing rights. This does not include governance over constructed islands or facilities constructed on reefs, as the Chinese government has recently done. Not to mention, the claim overlaps with the 12-mile legal area of other countries, and China seems unwilling to compromise on this, despite the fact that those countries are also legally guaranteed their own space (if China is using the UNCLOS as the legal reason for their claim.) They cannot ignore this conflict of legal claims forever.

@conorcorrigan765 You remember what happened to Tibet, right? And Taiwan's current situation? People don't criticize a majority just for the sake of it. There is always a malicious action at the core of the reason for criticism. They aren't the oppressors because they're the majority. They just happen to be both. Would you have said the same of the Muslims in Spain? After all, they conquered a land that wasn't theirs and improved its quality of life- even if that meant almost wiping out the native Spanish culture.

@Gypsum179 Makes no sense-- those bases were opened when China had no power. They are there because the US won the Pacific War and its spoils of war was complete control of Japan

@carlosvalle612 You could make the same argument with the opposite ideology. Individualism: I only care about me Christianity: I'm already Saved so I won't be punished for misdeeds Capitalism: Profit above all else

They're likely coordinating— with attention drawn away from China, they can get ready to invade Taiwan by 2025-7. That is much more likely to happen than Donetsk or Lugansk seceding into Russia. China has enough control of the US economy that they can't really do anything without collapsing everything, including themselves. This is Russia's biggest weakness— Putin refused to allow businesses to thrive, and Russia has no economic power as a result.

@Waterbug1591 "The world" lol no, just the West and even then only a few countries. Most of the world is happy to see the US power getting lesser, ideally they will lose all territories outside the 50 states and never bother anyone again
