  1.  @Ethan-xf4or  I'm not so sure. Russia's military has more combat experience than any of them, even British, and the very best they could do is contain Russia. But it is too large to conquer or get concessions from Russia. They would just wait until their armies were slowly killed off in guerrilla warfare (or the winter, or muddy autumn).

  2. They're likely coordinating— with attention drawn away from China, they can get ready to invade Taiwan by 2025-7. That is much more likely to happen than Donetsk or Lugansk seceding into Russia. China has enough control of the US economy that they can't really do anything without collapsing everything, including themselves. This is Russia's biggest weakness— Putin refused to allow businesses to thrive, and Russia has no economic power as a result.
