  2. There's a reason for that— they are firmly US allies. They're "safe" to idolize. Positive media coverage of China would simply not fly, even though Chinese cities look alot like Korean and Japanese ones.

  3. ​ excripto1  Everyone is friendly and hospitable? Lol South Koreans are notoriously self-centered and immersed in their phones. They literally won't hold a door open for old people or give up their seat on the subway. They're also extremely superficial (thanks to K-Pop and K-Dramas). Not to mention the high stress of work and school, far beyond the expectations in the West.
