MICHAEL CALLAHAN If someone breaks into your house, you have the right to shoot them. Murdering and torturing were too merciful— they should have chased them back to the Eastern seaboard. They were fighting for their land, while the Europeans were the invaders. How can you justify that?

MICHAEL CALLAHAN "Your house" = the house you live in. It can still be everyone's property, but harming someone else would still be illegal and punishable by force. So really, if anyone tried to kill you anywhere, you have the right to kill them back. The only difference is, with a house, you only let certain people in (collective ownership =/= collective use).

MICHAEL CALLAHAN Do most stakeholders have a say in how a company is run? They collectively own it (or, each owns a small part), but don't run/use it according to their personal wishes.

MICHAEL CALLAHAN In other words, even if they do own something, (assuming a communistic society) the good of the people as a whole takes priority over any individual. Should someone break into someone else's house, the good of the neighborhood is threatened, and despite owning a small part of everything, they can still be charged and punished. Of course this is a slippery slope, and why a balance between individual rights and greater good is needed, but I was just giving an example for this case.

MICHAEL CALLAHAN Again, you're not able to directly do with the whole company as you wish. You can vote for your interests along with everyone else, but you can't 'break into' the company and run it as you please.
