@АМАРАНТОНУГБЕС Yeah it's localized and so it's very limited. There's just no way for Russian products to penetrate EU and US markets given the (I think petty) dislike of the government. You can hate the Kremlin, and assume that they have backdoors in everything, but... why does Europe embrace US software then? The real reason for selectively excluding Russia from markets is far less palatable to say out loud. If it's privacy you're concerned with, the Europeans should have developed their own stuff.

@brostoevsky22 The trick is they've convinced the boomers that their software (and supporting their side in general) is fundamentally good, while supporting anyone else is fundamentally evil. It's not a matter of who does what, actions have no bearing on the moral judgement. Russia could become a Jeffersonian democracy and the US would still find a way to demonize them.. because it's Russia. As long as they're a big country with lots of natural resources and an educated population, they'll be a threat.

@GoonyMclinux Those are next. Anything the US can't control, it'll kick out. Telegram will be especially sad to see go. It and TikTok were the only sources of media that were truly independent from US censorship
