@raynegibson3377 That isn't mutually exclusive to problems within the culture. There's a reason so many black people talk about the crabs in a bucket mentality, "you talk too white", facing hate when someone makes it out of the hood, the homophobia and misogyny... the list goes on. I hate this idea that just because someone is oppressed, that means their moral character is somehow pure or that they lose agency for literally everything in their lives. It's ironically pretty dehumanizing to try and shift blame away from individual people and turn them into a monolith. That's not to say institutions and the government haven't set them back, but come on. The "systemic oppression" reads like a college lit paper. It's so weird that there's this mini-language that comes out of people whenever a taboo topic is touched on.
