@NoName-ze4qn Lol, nope. Alaska at the time was under poor management, and Russia was threatened by Britain. Oh, but what a mistake that was...

@General Goldy Seriously, that would have changed history. Alaska has warm water ports, something which Russia has been fighting for all of its history. Why Katherine didn't send more colonists there, I'll never understand. Russia would have become a Pacific power if it could keep that, and the U.S. wouldn't have access to the Arctic or so much oil. Such a shame, wasted opportunity.

@orppranator5230 Not really, those are just rose-colored glasses. Which period are you talking about? the 1800s, where political machines ruled Washington? The 1900's, where (even with slavery abolished) blacks were still second-class citizens? America never followed its own Constitution, not where it mattered.

I'd say China was in a similar position to the U.S. thousands of years ago. Far from the warring tribes of Europe and the Mediterranean, they had the Gobe Desert to their north and west, the Pacific to their east, and dense jungle to their south. And two major rivers with fertile land. Same goes with Egypt. Surrounded by the Sahara and the Mediterranean (before advanced sea travel), no one could touch them. Geography is destiny.

@musicfun1523 Yeah, when he said "devoid of international conflict" I had to laugh. Is he not aware that the U.S. is solely responsible for most of the modern issues Latin America and Mexico are facing? Almost every single government was overthrown by the CIA. They'd all be more powerful if they (ironically) had a situation like the U.S., where no foreign powers could interfere.

@anentiresleeveoforeos2087 So the plan, then, is to fight with the intention of losing, like a modern Lost Cause? That sounds stupid.

@anentiresleeveoforeos2087 I would argue that they (the American people) don't have a good sense of their geography, because you bulldozed it all into identical suburbs. Taking them would not be much of an issue. Not to mention GPS is owned by the military, and the internet is easily cut off. The military has a distinct advantage, unlike in Vietnam, because they actually know the land, every square inch of it. Again, GPS. That would make guerilla attacks (along with the notable lack of hiding spots in a flat suburb) very easy to take. Just roll through with tanks, or better yet drones. I fail to see how the U.S. populace thinks it can go up against even a fraction of 'itself', armed with more ammunition than they could ever hope to see in their lives. Your semi-automatic isn't piercing any Abrams armor, sadly.

@howardbaxter2514 Some, but not all. Great Plains are out, so is the Southwest. Nevada (for obvious reasons) is out, so is the area surrounding the Pentagon. The Rockies and Appalachia might work, but enough Americans would be killed by the time some got to those hiding spots that the movement could be ended then and there. Americans have never dealt with a homefront war in their history, I think most would freak out.

@elyenidacevedo1995 You'd be surprised... us Russians could learn a thing or 2 from the "civilization" of the indians.. would it be so hard to replicate right across the Bering?
