To the same token, though, politicians' line of work is theoretically just to make informed decisions about the larger legal and (to an extent) economic institutions and the way they are organised, according to the will of the people. Human nature nonwithstanding (greed is everywhere, so it shouldn't be singled out just here), only when business got involved in directing politics, did many of the problems of our modern societies arise. Also, as much as I love the Golden Arches Theory of Peace, I don't want you Americans to go thinking it's okay to nuke Vatican City just because it doesn't succumb to your poison food and especially because a large oil deposit was recently found right there :)
