He was actually taken off of suicide watch shortly before it happened. The New York Times published an article titled "Why Wasn't Jeffrey Epstein on Suicide Watch When He Died?" To my "incredible" surprise, they literally said nothing about it. Just fluff about what happened— not a single word actually saying why. They're afraid to speculate, keeping their lips shut. They don't want to be outed at anti-establishment.

Storm For a few reasons. They never got fat to begin with (they didn't let American companies take over their food culture), they have cities instead of suburbs, so they move more, and health is part of the culture in general.

Just a note that, even in a state armed to the teeth, with an armed individual nearby, the shooter was able to do his damage. But I thought arming everyone prevented shootings??

Nonya Biz A 'good guy with a gun' won't stop a shooting. A trained guy will, but hicks don't want the 'gubmit' to tell them how to use their guns, while also thinking they could stop someone without dying themselves, failing, or shooting someone else on accident.

Don't forget to consider, in an 'armed and polite' society, how many spats turn from a black eye to a death sentence. These situations work well for mass shooters. For other situations? Not so much.

Want to know what makes them safer, even though they buy way more? Gun control. You need to register your firearm, and prove that you know how to use it, and aren't crazy. And guess what, control of borders also means no control of gun crime. Criminals exist in the U.S., too. Build that wall, and you'll still have shootings and murders. Nothing changes, sorry. You need to control the guns to stop the guns. Simple as that. Who cares about the NRA? They're an 'advocacy' (lobbying) group, they don't own the idea of guns. Non-members can get them, too. And answer this: if more guns actually makes people safer, and there are so many guns in the South Side of Chicago, then why isn't it totally safe there?? I thought more guns made things safer??

@SgtJoeSmith Well, the issue is that's a strawman argument. Bernie never said that people can't make lots of money— just that they don't pay their share of taxes. Billionaires, by and large (yes, even Bill Gates) got that amount of money by engaging in anticompetitive behavior. Millionaires, on the other hand, can still reasonably claim they earned most of their money. That's the distinction Bernie makes, I think.

When neither side backs down (criminals and/or cartels vs. citizens) things keep building and building until BAM! We reach a boiling point and there are so many guns everywhere that anyone can get them, no matter who you are.

PE is a must too. Fat people have a more difficult time learning, and burning off at least some calories can only help...especially considering that, neurologically speaking, the purpose of the brain is to facilitate physical movement.
